According to The Standard, the Foxes are among the sides keen on the forward amid uncertainty over his future at Stamford Bridge.

The future of the 23-year-old has become the subject of intense speculation this month, with the Blues recalling him from his loan spell with Fatih Karagumruk.

Fofana contributed six goals from 13 games in the first half of the Turkish Super Lig campaign, with the team sitting 18th in the table.

The striker’s contract runs until the summer of 2029, with Chelsea previously signing him from Molde in a transfer worth a reported £10.9 million.

Leicester are reportedly among the clubs eyeing a deal for Fofana, whose future at Stamford Bridge could be resolved by the 2 February transfer deadline.

The Blues are keen to cash in on the forward following his goal scoring form in Turkey, recalling him from his loan spell with a view to a permanent exit.

It’s previously been reported that Chelsea are looking to recoup as much of the £10 million fee paid to sign the player in January 2023.

Championship rivals Derby County have been linked with a deal for Fofana, along with Scottish giants Celtic.

Royal Antwerp are also interested in the Premier League player, who has previously made a total of 18 appearances in the top flight.

Three of those games came for Chelsea, while he also featured 15 times for Burnley during a loan spell in the 2023/24 campaign.

Leicester are hoping to bolster their attacking options as they seek to improve their form in the second division.

The Foxes are currently 14th in the table, five points adrift of the play-offs, ahead of their upcoming clash against Oxford United on 24 January.

David Datro Fofana could be solution Leicester need

Martí Cifuentes’ side lacks a consistent goal scoring threat from their forward options, and Fofana could be what they need to solve that problem.

Their top scorer is Jordan James with nine goals to his name, while the likes of Jordan Ayew, Silko Thomas and Patson Daka have only scored seven between them.

Fofana scored four goals from 15 games in the Premier League for Burnley, which indicates he could potentially contribute more consistently at a Championship level.

His record in Turkey is also encouraging, especially as his six goals in 13 games came for a side struggling at the bottom of the table. However, Leicester would also need to ensure they can provide the service needed for the striker, who now appears to be looking for a permanent home to truly kick-start his career away from Stamford Bridge.
