Lille to resume on the first of July without new coach Davide Ancelotti | OneFootball

Lille will begin pre-season on the first of July, without new coach Davide Ancelotti, who is assisting his father Carlo, Brazil’s head coach, at the World Cup, which runs from 11 June to 19 July.

According to L'Équipe, president Olivier Létang set out the plan on Monday at Domaine de Luchin, reviewing last season, presenting Ancelotti and outlining a busy summer for the squad.

The restart coincides with the World Cup round of 16. If Brazil are still involved then, Ancelotti could miss the opening days of Lille’s preparations.

Lille finished third in Ligue 1, so they avoid the Champions League third qualifying round. Ancelotti is due to arrive by 20 July at the latest.

Details of the programme are still to come, but Lille will face Everton. A training camp should be held, probably in Germany and Austria, or in Spain.
