Barcelona have set their sights on a Manchester United defender after securing Marcus Rashford’s services.

Barca recently signed Rashford to strengthen their attack amid concerns over the ageing Robert Lewandowski’s availability.

The Blaugrana have signed Rashford on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, believed to be in the region €35 million. If things go as per the club’s plans, the Englishman may reunite with one of his United teammates next season at Camp Nou.

Barcelona want Lisandro Martinez

According to Fichajes, Barcelona are interested in signing Lisandro Martinez.

The Argentina international is continuing his recovery from an ACL injury that has kept him out of action since February. Still, the technically proficient centre-back has landed on the radar of one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

It is claimed Hansi Flick is a massive admirer of the 27-year-old’s ability to play out from the back, owing to his press-resistance and passing range.

The La Liga giants are looking for a new left-footed defender following Inigo Martinez’s departure, and reportedly view Martinez as a potential replacement.

Flick’s dream target is understood to be Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni. However, Barcelona president Joan Laporta sees the United star as a more cost-effective option.

Signed from Ajax in Erik ten Hag’s first summer at the helm, Martinez has entered the final 24 months of his contract at Old Trafford.

Martinez is influential at Man United

However, Martinez is immensely valued at United despite limited minutes under Ruben Amorim due to fitness problems.

Recently, the Argentine was named in the six-man leadership group in Amorim’s squad.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Martinez has returned to train individually on grass, signalling a competitive return is not too far away.
