Liverpool have stepped up their efforts to negotiate a deal for defensive target Marc Guéhi, according to Sami Mokbel and Paul Joyce.
According to Mokbel of the BBC, Liverpool have started talks to bring Guéhi to Anfield, with initial discussions now underway. Joyce of The Times further adds that negotiations are active between Liverpool and Crystal Palace, and the deal may span £30 million to £35 million, including add-ons.
This aligns with broader reports that Liverpool have already agreed personal terms with Guéhi, whose contract at Palace ends next summer, creating pressure to strike a deal now.
Crystal Palace, seeking at least £45 million, are negotiating amid a limited timeframe and could risk losing their captain on a free transfer in 2026, when his contract expires.
The Eagles' co-owner, Steve Parish, recently admitted that the club would have to consider selling Guéhi during the summer window.
The 25-year-old has been a long-term target for several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, who had a £65m bid turned down for the England centre-back in January.
