During Friday’s press conference, Liverpool manager Arne Slot addressed Mohamed Salah’s recent slump at the start of the season.

Early in the season, Mohamed Salah has stood out for his lack of sharpness in the final third. In 12 matches, the Egyptian star has managed only 3 goals and 3 assists. Over the past few weeks, he’s endured a run of five games without registering a goal or an assist for the Reds. Increasingly frustrated on the pitch, Salah seems to be forcing individual efforts, as seen in one incident where he completely overlooked Florian Wirtz against Frankfurt (5-1) on Wednesday in the Champions League.

Facing the media on Friday, Slot offered his perspective: "A tough period for Salah? It’s been a difficult spell for all of us. Nobody is used to losing. For the players who have been here for many years, and also for the newcomers." The Dutch coach downplayed Salah’s form and expressed optimism for the rest of the campaign.

"His missed chances? I don’t know if it’s really about form. Generally, players miss chances. He’s only human. We’re not used to seeing him miss opportunities, especially not over several matches, but it happens. The main thing is Mo has always scored goals for our club. The last thing I’m worried about is that, because Mo has done this his entire life, and that’s what I expect from him," he added.
