Liverpool’s youth prospects have really been making a name for themselves this year both in and out of the club.

Trey Nyoni and Tyler Morton both have first-team minutes and the signing of 16-year old Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea turned heads in a very serious way.

Meanwhile, Ben Doak has taken his time at Middlesbrough and turned it into Premier League-standard output.

One youngster Liverpool have been without, however, has been Jayden Danns. A stress fracture in his back has kept him out all season, last being seen turning out for the Under-21s against Arsenal back in April.

The injury also scuppered a potential loan move to the Championship’s Plymouth Argyle, who are currently managed by Wayne Rooney.

On an extremely positive note, though, Danns has now been spotted back in training.

He appeared front and centre of a training post on Liverpool’s official Instagram account, meaning that the club have to be feeling positive about the attacker’s injury status.

Is Jayden Danns first-team bound?

Danns has already made five first-team appearances in all competitions for the club, notably scoring twice in just 27 minutes on route to a 3-0 win over Southampton in the FA Cup.

Last season, Klopp went onto describe Danns as a 'special' player.

It has previously been reported that Arne Slot is interested in monitoring Danns’ in his return from injury with a potential view to integrating him back into the first team.

Failing that, a loan move out to the Championship as was previously on the cards could be the perfect place for the youngster.

The aforementioned Doak is tearing it up, but Lewis Koumas and Owen Beck are also finding joy in their time elsewhere. And whilst we might not want to admit it, if Plymouth were still interested in his services then there aren’t many people a striker should want to learn from more than Wayne Rooney.

Liverpool’s current striking options aren’t exactly perfect, however. Diogo Jota’s return from injury is up in the air and Darwin Nunez clearly wasn’t Arne Slot’s first option for the position. With the hectic Christmas period not far away, as well as multiple cup games, Danns could be a serious option if Arne Slot likes what he sees.

And despite only being 18, Danns recently extended his deal with Adidas until 2029. In addition to Roy Keane calling him ‘amazing’, it is clear that the footballing world is high on the youngster.

His return to training is a welcome sight and the sooner he is seen in a Liverpool shirt the better it will be for everyone.
