Two goals in as many minutes gave Liverpool a close-fought victory over bottom-of-the-league Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The game began with emotional scenes when Diogo Jota's two sons came on as mascots in a match between two clubs the Portuguese forward represented.
Liverpool went into the game with a two-goal cushion thanks to a quickfire double. Jeremie Frimpong pulled the ball back for Ryan Gravenberch to finish.
Just a minute later, Hugo Ekitiké found Florian Wirtz in acres of space to put the ball past José Sa and make it 2-0 and finally score his first goal for the club.
Despite being two goals ahead of Wolves, the struggling side got back into the game in the second half. Santiago Bueno reduced the deficit early into the second half when a corner bounced back off the post before being put into an empty net.
Arne Slot's side eventually held on though to record a fourth straight win ahead of facing Leeds United on New Year's Day
