Liverpool have made an offer to sign Rodrygo ahead of the January transfer window as they continue to monitor Antoine Semenyo, according to reports.
The Reds have been in disappointing form so far this season with Arne Slot’s side currently eighth in the Premier League table after 11 matches.
Players like Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak have failed to settle in and Liverpool could enter the transfer market again in the winter as Slot looks to get the balance of his side right.
Reports in Spain claim that Liverpool have now made an ‘offer’ of €80m (£71m) for Rodrygo ahead of the January transfer market and the Real Madrid winger ‘will ask to leave ‘.
The Brazil international is struggling to make an impact on Xabi Alonso’s side with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior proving tough to get past.
The report from Spain adds: ‘From England, Arne Slot has closely followed his development and considers him the ideal signing to bolster an attack that needs a breath of fresh air. At Anfield, Rodrygo would be an undisputed starter on the left wing, where Gakpo poses no competition, in a system that would maximize his speed, dribbling, and ability to move between the lines. The Premier League could therefore be the leap he needs to rediscover the joy he has lost in Madrid.
‘Real Madrid, for their part, wouldn’t be opposed to a deal of this magnitude. The €80 million would allow them to strengthen other areas of the team and free up an attacking spot that, in practice, already belongs to Mbappé . Furthermore, Florentino Pérez has always been pragmatic with players who want to leave, and if Rodrygo persists and brings a good offer, the club won’t put up too many obstacles.’
Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo with rumours that the player has ‘asked to leave’ the Vitality Stadium.
The report adds: ‘Contrary to reports, however, Semenyo has not asked to leave and is believed to have been annoyed by those claims.’

When asked about his future recently, Semenyo told Sky Sports: “I don’t think about it too much. I try to stay present as much as I can. You see the news all the time, I see it as well, I’m not oblivious, but I try to keep focused.
“I’m enjoying my football here. If I’m not scoring goals, all of that goes away. I try to stay present, do the best I can for the team, score goals and whatever happens in the future happens.
“When they [his former team-mates] all left [in the summer], there was a lot of interest and back and forth with the club.
“But I knew in my head that the manager’s got something up his sleeve this year. How we finished off the season last year was so good and we could continue, especially with the players we’ve bought in as well.
“I wasn’t too sure at the start but we’ve kicked on like a house on fire. I’m glad I committed to staying here because I’m enjoying every moment.”
