Liverpool’s interest in Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise continues to gather momentum, with reports suggesting the German champions are considering fresh contract terms to fend off suitors.
Liverpool completed an extensive rebuild in the summer, investing over £400 million in Arne Slot’s squad while sanctioning high-profile departures including Darwin Núñez, Luis Díaz, Jarell Quansah and Caoimhín Kelleher. Despite such upheaval, attention has already turned towards future reinforcements, and Olise’s name remains prominent.
The 23-year-old Frenchman, formerly of Crystal Palace, has made a swift impression at Bayern Munich. Four goals and four assists in his opening eight appearances underline why clubs across Europe, including Liverpool and Manchester City, are monitoring his situation closely. His ability to create and convert opportunities has made him one of the standout attacking talents in the Bundesliga.
According to Bundesliga insider Christian Falk, Bayern Munich are keen to avoid any uncertainty by offering Olise a new contract. With his influence on the pitch growing, the club view him as central to their long-term project. Any deal would be designed to secure his immediate future and maintain leverage should external bids arrive.
While no official price tag has been confirmed, suggestions indicate that an offer close to €100 million (£87 million) could prompt discussions. Bayern, however, are understood to be reluctant to lose a player they only signed recently and who has quickly become a fixture under their current system.

Liverpool’s scouting department continues to assess Olise’s progress, with Manchester City also keeping a close eye. For Liverpool, the Frenchman represents both a short-term injection of creativity and a long-term investment, particularly given the club’s strategy of balancing marquee signings with younger, developing profiles.
Olise’s proven Premier League record at Crystal Palace makes him an attractive option. However, any pursuit is likely to involve significant financial negotiations and competition from domestic rivals. City’s interest, combined with Bayern’s contract plans, ensures the landscape is highly competitive.
While Olise remains on the radar, Liverpool’s immediate focus could lie elsewhere. Reports suggest a central defender is a priority, particularly in light of Giovanni Leoni’s recent injury. Slot’s side, having started the campaign strongly, are looking to reinforce depth and protect against the challenges of a congested season.
Nevertheless, Olise’s name will continue to feature prominently in discussions around Liverpool’s long-term squad planning. His performances in Germany are unlikely to go unnoticed, and the outcome of Bayern Munich’s contract talks may ultimately shape the direction of negotiations in 2026.
