Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Receive Potential Boost as €40m Deal is Reached

With the World Cup ending this week, Liverpool fans will be hoping for an active few weeks in the transfer market.

Deals for Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet were wrapped up earlier this summer, but not much has changed since then.

Liverpool’s priority remains finding a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who left the club this summer after a mutual agreement to terminate his contract one year early.

After their attempts to sign RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande hit a brick wall, attention has seemingly turned to Bradley Barcola of PSG.

However, they aren’t alone in their pursuit of the 23-year-old. According to le10sport, Arsenal are ready to rival Liverpool in the race for the forward.

But Arsenal have found a breakthrough today that might leave Liverpool a clear run at the PSG star…

Arsenal Close In On Tzolis Deal

According to Ben Jacobs, Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Club Brugge forward Christos Tzolis €40m.

Speaking on X, he said: “Arsenal reach a €40m agreement with Club Brugge to sign Christos Tzolis. Talks have accelerated rapidly today after #AFC agreed to meet the asking price. Clubs currently formalising the deal.”

“Separate to the pursuit of Morgan Rogers.”

From a Liverpool perspective, this is interesting. Tzolis is a left-winger, just like Barcola. The Greek forward is expected to be a direct replacement for Leandro Trossard, who has just joined Besiktas.

However, Jacobs stresses that the Gunners are also ready to push for Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, who is also deployed on the left. Should they sign the England World Cup star, then a move for Bradley Barcola would appear highly unlikely.

Especially with Noni Madueke and Bukayo Saka occupying the opposite flank.

In contrast, Liverpool have a starting spot guaranteed, ready and waiting for Barcola.

However, the ball remains in PSG’s court. If they do not capture Yan Diomande from Leipzig, any deal for Barcola could be off the table. But for now, waiting until after the World Cup appears to be the expected timeline for any breakthrough.
