Liverpool have been handed a boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester United, with midfielder Ryan Gravenberch (23) expected to be fit despite being substituted at half-time during the Netherlands’ 4-0 win over Finland on Sunday, Sky Sports reports.
Sources close to the club have confirmed that Gravenberch’s withdrawal was purely precautionary, with no serious injury concerns. The 23-year-old reported minor hamstring discomfort during the first half, prompting manager Ronald Koeman to take no risks given the Netherlands’ comfortable 3-0 lead at the interval.
“[Gravenberch] indicated he had some minor hamstring problems,” Koeman said post-match. “Of course, we didn’t take any risks with that.”
The Dutch midfielder is due to return to Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre early this week, where he will undergo a routine assessment by the club’s medical staff.
Liverpool remain confident he will be available for Sunday’s highly anticipated showdown against Manchester United. With the Reds chasing momentum in both domestic and European competition, Gravenberch’s availability will be a welcome relief for Slot.
