Liverpool could be without midfielder Ryan Gravenberch for their Premier League clash with Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.

Gravenberch was taken off at half-time during the Netherlands’ World Cup qualifying victory over Finland yesterday and was replaced by Manchester City’s Tijjani Reijnders.

Head coach Ronald Koeman explained in his post-match conference that the Liverpool star had to be substituted after he ‘indicated he was experiencing some minor hamstring discomfort’.

According to The Athletic, Gravenberch will now be assessed to determine the extent of his injury.

The 23-year-old has started all of Liverpool’s league games this season except for the opening day win over Bournemouth, which he missed due to suspension.

Gravenberch is one of manager Arne Slot’s best players, and an injury to him could impact Liverpool’s hopes of defeating the Red Devils.

Wataru Endo also suffered an unknown injury while on international duty with Japan, meaning Liverpool could be without two senior defensive midfielders for the United clash.

Slot may have to choose between Alexis McAllister, Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai to play as the deepest-lying midfielder.

Defender Ibrahima Konate withdrew from the France squad due to a quadriceps injury, which also led to his substitution in the 2-1 defeat at Chelsea.

Liverpool are hopeful that Konate’s injury is minor and that he will recover in time for Sunday’s showdown with Ruben Amorim’s side.

They will be without goalkeeper Alisson Becker and young defender Giovanni Leoni for United’s visit.
