Claudio Lotito set out Lazio’s Stadio Flaminio project at Formello on Tuesday, appealed for détente with boycotting fans, and said he wants the venue ready for Euro 2032, which Italy and Türkiye will host.

Lazio have pushed to build their own home and identified the disused Flaminio as the leading option, presenting a renovation plan to Rome’s municipality that won the mayor’s initial approval. According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lotito opened the presentation with a prepared address stressing its significance for both club and city.

He insisted the design accounts for environmental impact and congestion in the construction zone.

Under pressure from organised groups who are boycotting home matches to urge a sale, the president used the stage to explain his stance and seek a truce.

The 68-year-old also trailed a five-year roadmap called Lazio 2032, due to be unveiled in March.

Asked about funding, Lotito said the project would be financed by sponsors.
