Lucas Veríssimo seals Santos return on three-year deal, hopes to repay the club | OneFootball

Santos have confirmed the return of Lucas Veríssimo on a three-year contract, with the defender addressing supporters in a club video. He described the move back to Vila Belmiro as emotional.

In his message, he said he was very happy to be back at the club that brought him through and that he hopes to repay everything Santos have done for him.

He also thanked Alexandre Mattos, Marcelo Teixeira and the coaching staff for their effort and trust during the negotiations, finishing with a rallying call to the fanbase.

While he awaits his flight home, he remains in Qatar with his family pending airport clearance. The deal between the clubs has been finalised, with Santos to pay four million dollars in four annual instalments, the first due in December this year, plus one million dollars tied to targets.

Born in Jundiaí, São Paulo state, Veríssimo has made 190 appearances and scored seven goals for Santos. He debuted for the senior side in 2016, won the Copinha in 2013 and the Paulista in 2016. He also featured in the run to the 2020 Libertadores final.
