Fresh from a second Champions League with PSG and 12 trophies in three years, Luis Enrique, 56, is intent on climbing higher.
PSG beat Arsenal in Budapest on Saturday, 1-1 then 4-3 on penalties, after which he urged his staff to savour the break. According to L'Équipe, his contract extension to 2030 is agreed, though not yet official.
"I have never set myself limits. When you are in elite sport, you always want to win. Look at Real, they have won the Champions League 15 times and they do not tire," he told La Nueva España last week.
He has no plans to coast, aiming to expand his collection again, including delivering PSG the record for successive Ligue 1 titles.
Enrique now has three European Cups, including Barcelona’s in 2015. On TNT Sports, when shown a list led by Carlo Ancelotti on 5, he grinned, "Only three? OK, we need to improve."
Earlier he said he would try to be back in the final next year. Three in a row would make him only the second coach in 70 years to do so, after Zidane’s 2014-2016 Real.
He feels settled in Paris with full technical autonomy, and only private matters could move him on.
