Lyon plan five friendlies before Champions League qualifiers | OneFootball

According to Le Progres, Lyon are finalising a pre-season programme before the Champions League third qualifying round, played over two legs, and a possible two-legged play-off, with five friendlies planned.

The club have not yet confirmed a training camp. An initial trip to the Adidas base near Nuremberg, pencilled in for the first week of August, was shelved because the third qualifying round falls on four or five August and 11 August. An Austrian alternative has also been abandoned.

One warm-up is locked in, in Décines on eight July against Mâcon, a partner club in National 3, likely a morning kick-off behind closed doors.

The 11 July fixture could be against GOAL FC, though this has not been confirmed. Another July game is likely at Stade Pierre-Rajon, in keeping with recent summers.

The opposition there remains to be decided, with Torino, 0-0, and Getafe, a 2-1 win, the visitors in 2024 and 2025. Lyon then plan two further matches before their European campaign, including one against a heavyweight, as tradition dictates.
