The match officials for Leeds United’s Premier League clash with Manchester City on Saturday afternoon have been announced with Peter Bankes set to take charge at the Etihad Stadium.
The Select Group official is in his seventh season in the Premier League, and in this time the 43-year-old has overseen 102 top-flight matches beginning with a 2019 meeting between Leicester City and Bournemouth.
The Merseyside-native has worked his way up the English football pyramid, with almost 200 EFL appearances.
The Whites have a solid record in their 23 matches to be refereed by Bankes, winning nine times and drawing on four occasions.
The Sky Blues, meanwhile, have recorded four wins in their 10 matches officiated by the referee, losing five.
This season, Bankes refereed Leeds’ 0-0 draw at Elland Road against Newcastle, handing out yellow cards to Willy Gnonto and Nick Pope.
On Bankes’ last visit to the Etihad in the top-flight, Man City lost 2-0 to Spurs in August of this year.
Keeping up with the action from Stockley Park is Video Assistant Referee Robert Jones and Additional VAR Adrian Holmes.
