Manchester City moved up to second in the Premier League table after beating Bournemouth 3-1 on Sunday.
The Citizens cruised to victory at the Etihad Stadium courtesy of goals from Erling Braut Haaland (2) and Nico O’Reilly.
The result brings Pep Guardiola’s side within six points of leaders Arsenal, while Liverpool are just one point behind in third.
The Gunners are favourites for the Premier League title this season, but City are capable of overturning the six-point deficit.
We look at the next five fixtures for the top three title contenders.
City welcome Liverpool to the Etihad Stadium next Sunday before locking horns with Newcastle United at St James’ Park. Their following fixtures are more favourable.
Arsenal will clash with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light ahead of two capital derbies against Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
Liverpool ended their losing streak at the weekend as they defeated Villa 2-0 at Anfield. They have a tricky away trip at Man City before a home clash with Nottingham Forest.
