Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in recruiting the services of Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn, according to German outlet Sport Bild.
Man United want to bolster their options in the middle of the park at the Old Trafford club, but targets like Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton and his Brighton & Hove Albion counterpart Carlos Baleba could be tricky to land.
The Red Devils have continued to scour Europe for a midfielder, and Eichhorn has caught their eye.
Man United have watched the 16-year-old in action in the Bundesliga 2 a couple of times, but they are not the only ones keen on the teenage sensation dubbed the new Toni Kroos back home.
Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayer Leverkusen are some of those who have scouted Eichhorn too.
Hertha are open to selling Bundesliga 2’s youngest-ever player for around €20 million, which is a fee Man United could be willing to spend if head coach Ruben Amorim is convinced of his quality.
The young defensive midfielder has started seven out of the nine games he has featured in so far in 2025-26, and his side have won five of those games.
The physicality of the Bundesliga 2 and even the Bundesliga cannot be compared to that of the Premier League, but Eichhorn has the potential to play in the English top-flight going by his performances so far.
Whether Man United will be keen to take the punt on such a young player remains to be seen as they will have other older and more experienced targets on their mind ahead of the next summer transfer window.
There are no guarantees Eichhorn will hit the ground running in England if he is signed, and the Red Devils could see him as one for the future as Amorim needs a midfielder capable of making an instant impact in his team right now.
