AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign Mason Mount from Manchester United this summer.
The 27-year-old has endured a difficult time at Manchester United, punctuated by injury problems. Mount has made only 25 league starts in three seasons at Old Trafford, following a £55m transfer from Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Manchester United are now open to offloading Mount, as the Red Devils look to refresh in midfield.
According to MilanPress, the Serie A side have been offered the chance to sign Mount in a cut-price deal and the midfielder could reunite with former Chelsea teammates Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic at the San Siro.
Amorim has reportedly given the ‘green light’ to a deal, which could cost less than £20m. The Portuguese coach previously praised Mount, despite his fitness issues in Manchester.
“Mason Mount… I have to tell you I love that kid,” Amorim said in November 2024.
“You can look in his eyes that he wants this so bad. And this is the most important thing for me.
“I know he was suffering from injuries, he was not on the pitch, but now he’s trying to stay fit and we hope he can continue to be fit, to show all the talent that he’s shown, for example, in Chelsea.
“He played in this system [before], so it’s perfect for him. I have two positions for Mason Mount, so he should be very happy!”
