Middlesbrough travel to face Swansea City at Swansea.com Stadium this evening aiming to address their slump in form.

Boro’s automatic promotion hopes are in danger after failing to win in four Championship games. A costly 2-1 defeat to promotion rivals Millwall on Friday saw Kim Hellberg’s side drop out of the top two.

Tonight, the North East side travel to Wales to face a Swansea side sat 16th in the second tier.

Kim Hellberg has confirmed that Boro will remain without influential trio Hayden Hackney, Morgan Whittaker and Leo Castledine. It’s a big blow for the promotion hopefuls.

“They are not going to play on Monday,” the Boro boss said.

“Hopefully a week or two for them. And of course it’s a blow. Hayden’s the best player in the league and Morgan is our top goalscorer.”

Hellberg faces a decision on forward David Strelec who has blanked across his last four games. The Slovakian has netted just five goals in the Championship this season. Mamadou Kaly Sène offers an alternative.

Elsewhere, centre-back Alfie Jones is a doubt due to an ankle issue. If Jones is ruled out, Boro could retain the three-man central defence of Adilson Malanda, Luke Ayling and Dael Fry seen against Millwall.
