Boro's players certainly seem to have enjoyed their win over Ipswich Town thanks to a dressing room photo revelation.
Middlesbrough's post-match celebrations may have got out of hand following their win over Ipswich Town, as revealed via an Instagram post from Delano Burgzorg.
Following a hard-fought encounter against Ipswich on Friday night, Middlesbrough continued their outstanding form to start the season, earning three points on the night to put them top of the Championship after 10 games played ahead of the weekend's other fixtures.
In a 2-1 win that brought plenty of drama, including a missed penalty by Ipswich striker George Hirst, it was the perfect night for Rob Edwards' side, who were desperate to get back on track following their disappointing loss to Portsmouth the other side of the October international break.
An assured team performance from all involved, including a debut goal for Morgan Whittaker, highlighted the unity within the Boro group which Edwards has fostered since he walked through the door in the summer.
Players took to social media to express their delight. However, none more humourous than Delano Burgzorg's Instagram post, which was met by a resounding reaction from his teammates.
Burgzorg shared via Instagram a post captioned: "After a few difficult weeks back on the pitch!! I know tough times never last. Ps: we need a new TV innit."
Minutes have been hard to come by so far for Burgzorg, but he showed his worth on the night, much to his excitement as shown by the post-match celebrations.
The fourth image on his Instagram post shows a smashed TV inside the Boro dressing room, which fellow frontman Tommy Conway certainly found the funny side of and hinted that Boro's Dutch winger may be in for a fine.
Conway commented on his teammate's post saying: "Top Stuff my guy, still fined tho."
That brought about a joking interchange between the pair as Burgzorg replied saying: "@tommyconway_ impossible ask @luke_ayling2 he knows about it!!"
Other Boro players were quick to issue the 26-year-old his well-deserved praise on his Instagram, including: Callum Brittain, Matt Targett, and Hayden Hackney, among others.
With Burgzorg potentially in for a fine as he appears to be the culprit behind the smashed TV screen, according to Conway at least, away from the incident itself, their lighthearted exchange shows the closeness within the group that has been key to keeping their high performance levels so consistent.
An away trip to meet Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday next on the calendar is a great opportunity to put three more points on the board.
Middlesbrough's five-star performance on the night has only further backed up their case that they are strong promotion contenders even at this early stage of the season.
Wins against the likes of West Brom, Norwich, Millwall and now Ipswich respectively, have proved that.
The former Mainz and Huddersfield Town man played a vital part in Boro's opener on the night, as it was his turn and subsequent cross that was turned into the Ipswich net by defender Cedric Kipre just before the half-time whistle resulting in an own goal.
With the winger very much being the creator on the night, he was brought off in the 87th minute, and was met by a resounding applause by the Boro faithful.
Burgzorg made 42 Championship appearances last season where he scored five league goals and provided two assists. Despite playing seven of the 10 Championship fixtures up to this point, most of those have come as a substitute, much to his frustration.
However, performances like last night will do his confidence the world of good, and certainly put his name in the hat for a starting role on a consistent basis under the new manager.
As aforementioned, Sheffield Wednesday up next would be a perfect opportunity for Burgzorg to be given another start for Edwards, not only due to putting in a quality performance versus Ipswich, but also to further boost his confidence, which had perhaps been lacking at the beginning of the campaign because of increased competition in the forward areas.
With it seeming as though he was starting to fall out of favour in this Boro side, the winger has certainly reintroduced himself to the Riverside.
Now it's a case of producing time and time again.
