From today, Friday 13 March, "Beyond the Magic" is available on the official AC Milan channels and on DAZN. The short documentary is focused on Mike Maignan and it offers exclusive insight into the Rossoneri captain on and off the pitch.

A technical and personal leader, Maignan embodies the spirit of AC Milan: responsibility, personality and a competitive mindset. These traits lead the current squad and echo the legacy of the Club's legendary captains and champions. 

A scene tells everything: just moments before the 1-0 derby win against Inter, the French goalkeeper gathered his teammates in a huddle and said: "Together, guys, together. Keep your emotions in check, stay tight, stay calm. Stay focused on the game." A moment that perfectly captures the team's unity and Mike's role as a leader.

"Beyond the Magic" offers an exclusive look at Maignan's personal and professional journey, highlighting one of the most influential yet reserved figures in international football. From the challenges of his childhood to his rise to the top, the documentary shows how mindset, discipline, and responsibility can turn talent into true leadership.

"Being captain is a responsibility, and I'm proud to be one: in a group of twenty or thirty players, there’s only one. You don't play a role, you have to be yourself and set an example. That's what I try to do every day, without abusing the armband or the status. If they gave me the armband, it's because of who I am. In the past, I always told the youth coaches that there was no need to give it to me, because I already felt like a captain without it. Today, wearing it is a source of pride and responsibility for me."

Through exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, from the locker room to training sessions at Milanello, the documentary also captures the team's daily life, highlighting the squad's cohesion, the relationships with teammates and coaching staff, and the work that helps build AC Milan's identity every day. The film also showcases the energy brought by the new staff this season, as well as the daily work with Goalkeeping Coach Claudio Filippi.

Talking about the Coach, Mike Maignan said: "Allegri is top-class, both in managing the locker room and in his approach on the pitch."
