Milan don’t yet know whether Ralf Rangnick will accept their offer to lead their front office, but, in the meantime, they’ll meet with two coaches who have deep ties with him, Oliver Glasner and Matthias Jaissle, La Repubblica informs.

The Rossoneri are currently represented by just two directors, board member Massimo Calvelli, who’s been elevated as the CEO, perhaps temporarily, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who’s a simple consultant to the owner, Gerry Cardinale.

Milan will convene with Glasner early in the week, while they’ll talk with Jaissle down the line. The chase of the former is more straightforward, as he’s a free agent. Instead, they might have to pay a fee of up to €6M to free up the latter from Al-Ahli.

The two are currently in the lead over Mauricio Pochettino and Arne Slot, who’s been quickly linked to them after his late ousting from Liverpool. The Reds will hire Andoni Iraola, who was one of the main candidates for the Rossoneri but eventually repelled them. The current USMNT manager could team up with director Ramon Planes, who just departed Al-Ittihad, if he were picked. Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A side will know in about ten days whether Rangnick will take the job.

While the transfer market will ramp up only after the World Cup, they are very late and are pursuing not-so-easy targets. It’d be a problem if they struck out on the official, in particular. They are doing a lot of legwork to set up his arrival. At least Iraola going to Liverpool, rather than to a smaller side, reduces the sting of such a snub.
