Kaoru Mitoma is fit after an ankle injury, a timely boost for Brighton as Liverpool visit the Amex. According to WeAreBrighton.com, the winger has recovered in time for Saturday.
He sustained the problem in the 1-0 defeat at Arsenal and missed the 1-0 win at Sunderland. In his absence Yankuba Minteh made his first start in three months and scored the only goal.
Mitoma tends to enjoy this fixture, with three goals against Liverpool, including in last season’s final home game. Brighton won that Amex thriller 3-2 against the newly crowned champions.
Head coach Fabian Hurzeler reported no other absentees. He said Mitoma and Jan Paul van Hecke enter the final 12 months of their deals this summer and that talks with players are transparent. He added both are important, there are always two sides and we will have to see what happens.
Liverpool will be without Mo Salah after a muscle injury in Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Galatasaray in the Champions League. Arne Slot said Salah will not be available on Saturday, he will also miss Egypt duty during the international break, and they hope he could return by its end given his usual speed of recovery.
Salah has 11 goals and 10 assists against Brighton.
