Manchester United’s striker hunt has not gone according to plan, and there is a risk of the Red Devils losing out on Moise Kean should they fail to act soon.
The Italian has emerged as one of the club’s backup options in case Viktor Gyokeres cannot be signed, with the Fiorentina ace’s red-hot form last season catching INEOS’ fancy.
The 25-year-old netted 25 times in only 38 starts across all competitions, while also registering three assists, and his performances have also been noticed by Saudi Pro League suitors.
Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that Al-Qadsiah have already submitted a proposal of a three-year offer and are ready to trigger the ex-Juventus ace’s release clause.
United have intensified contacts with the striker’s camp in recent hours and are not ready to let go of Moise Kean without a fight.
His €52 million release clause is valid from July 1 to July 15, and the player would love to move to the Premier League but he does not want to take a decision in haste and wants to see the kind of clubs who come in for him.
“Manchester United are there. More than before. In the last few hours, Manchester United have reappeared for Moise Kean and, after the continuous emissaries who have followed him closely this season, they are now monitoring the situation with ever greater interest.
“It is clear that the allure of the Premier League represents a real danger for Fiorentina and its fans. It will also depend on the rest of the international attacking market because the domino effect has not yet begun. For example, Arsenal’s choice will also have an impact on United: whether to sink for Gyokeres or go for Sesko.
“In addition, on Kean’s table there is an offer from Saudi Arabia where they are putting 97 million on the table, considering the 52 of the clause and the 45 of the salary for three years. Al-Qadsiah has a lot of money, but nothing is taken for granted.”
Playing in Europe is considered vital given next year’s World Cup so Kean has a tough choice on his hands.
United will also prefer Gyokeres or even Victor Osimhen, if he reduces his demands, while Dusan Vlahovic is another low-cost option.
As for Kean, he is young and and his overall gameplay also showed massive improvement from his time in England.
Even though the Italy international endured an ill-fated spell at Everton wherein he managed a meagre four goals, his experience of playing in the Premier League will help should he return with INEOS big fans of players with English top-flight experience.
