Enzo Maresca is hopeful Moises Caicedo will be fit for Chelsea’s Club World Cup final this weekend.
The Blues are through to Sunday’s showpiece at the MetLife Stadium and will face either Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid thanks to a comfortable 2-0 semi-final win over Fluminense.
The midfielder, who returned to the starting XI after missing the quarter-final win over Palmeiras through suspension, appeared to have done same damage to his ankle after making a tackle.
Caicedo would receive treatment on the pitch and after attempting to play on, he eventually hobbled off, leaving Chelsea to finish the game with 10-men having used all of their substitutes.
Naturally attentions have already turned to Sunday’s final and Maresca has instructed his midfielder to make sure he is available for selection.

Maresca also reflected on what he feels has been a great season for Chelsea, with a top-four finish secured in addition to winning the Conference League and reaching the Club World Cup final.
"It is a great achievement. It has been a fantastic season; top four in the Premier League, Conference League and now in the final of this competition - we are so, so happy,” he added.
