In what was their penultimate home game of the season, United put on a show with Shania Hayles scoring her 11th of the campaign before Freya Gregory got her first for the club and Beth Lumsden added a third just before the break.
It was very quickly four for the Lasses after half time when Emily Murphy powered home an impressive header. Then second-half substitute Isabella Sibley made her mark on the game with a quickfire brace.
United came out of the blocks intent on taking the initiative and pinning Blackburn back, and their persistent passing and pressing paid off after ten minutes.
Murphy picked up the ball midway inside Blackburn's half before some silky footwork saw her evade two defenders and slip through Hayles, who took one touch before calmly slotting beneath Alex Brooks.
It was almost a first home goal for Rachel Furness just seven minutes later when the recently-recalled Northern Ireland international came crashing into the box to meet Lumsden's corner but could only glance her header wide.
Marie Edwards fashioned Blackburn's first chance of the game when she latched onto a clearance and nipped behind Deanna Cooper, but her lobbed effort fell way over the crossbar.
With nine minutes left to play in the first half, United doubled their advantage when Gregory netted her first goal for the club.
The goal was largely all Gregory's own making as she burst into the box down the left before stinging the palms of Brooks, but Blackburn failed to clear, and a loose header fell to United's number 11 who volleyed home.
Newcastle were running riot at Kingston Park with Lumsden scoring her seventh of the season just two minutes later.
Demi Stokes picked out Furness just inside the area and her deft flick to the back post was met by Lumsden who chested the ball down before fizzing her strike into the roof of the net.
The Lasses began the second half as they ended the first, on top and finding the back of the net after just four minutes.
Lumsden managed to spin away from her marker out wide before lofting a cross to the back post which Murphy made sure she was first to as she powered her header into the far corner.
After scoring her first goal in black and white, Gregory was almost wheeling away in celebration for a second time as her free kick curled away from Brooks but narrowly flew over.
It was a much more subdued second half as United controlled the tempo and kept Blackburn moving about, however, a double substitution of Amy Andrews and Sibley worked wonders for Becky Langley.
Andrews drifted in off the right wing and curled an inch-perfect cross into the six-yard box for Sibley to flick home for her first goal at Kingston Park.
And she added a second in the final minute. Newcastle almost made it a club record-high winning margin in the Championship when Andrews fired low at Brooks, but the Blackburn goalkeeper got down just enough to push her effort around the post from a tight angle.
