Neymar e Gabigol to miss Santos’ Sudamericana play-off opener at Universidad Central | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Santos have opted to rest Neymar and Gabigol for Tuesday’s Copa Sudamericana play-off first leg against Universidad Central in Valencia, Venezuela, scheduled for 21:30 Brasília time. They will not travel with the squad on Monday morning.

Neymar continues individual training following the World Cup. Gabigol is sidelined with adductor myalgia.

Cuca’s staff will also leave in Brazil midfielders João Schmidt, who is in physical transition, and Willian Arão, who has a rib knock. Full-back Igor Vinicius remains out with tendinitis.

The team are additionally without midfielder Gustavo Henrique, who is treating a right hamstring muscle injury, and winger Moisés, who has an issue in his right ankle.

After the tie in Venezuela, Santos return on Saturday at 18:30 Brasília time to face Chapecoense at Vila Belmiro in the 20th round of the Brasileirão.
