Neymar trains in gym as Santos resume after Palmeiras defeat | OneFootball

Santos returned to work on Thursday, a day after the derby defeat by Palmeiras in the Campeonato Paulista, with Neymar present at CT Rei Pelé.

According to Globo.com, the forward performed exercises in the training centre gym as part of his recovery from surgery on the meniscus in his left knee. The initial expectation is that the number 10 will be available to the coaching staff in February.

Gabriel Menino also worked with the group, having been announced on Wednesday as a new signing and already named in the squad for the game in Barueri.

Neymar trained alongside the starters from the derby, who carried out a recovery session in the gym. Gabriel Menino was on the pitch for a technical workout that opened preparations for Sunday at 20:30, Brasília time, against Guarani at the Brinco de Ouro.

The team are due back on Friday afternoon, when Juan Pablo Vojvoda should have most of the squad available to begin fine-tuning for the weekend fixture.
