Neymar works in gym as Santos resume at CT Rei Pelé | OneFootball

Santos returned to training on Thursday, a day after the clássico against Palmeiras, with Neymar present at CT Rei Pelé. According to Diario Do Peixe, the forward worked in the gym as he continues rehabilitation from surgery on the meniscus in his left knee.

Neymar joined the same recovery session as the players who started the derby. Internally, the No 10 is expected to be cleared to play in early February, in line with the schedule set by the coaching staff and medical department.

Gabriel Menino was also with the group. Announced on Wednesday, the midfielder trained on the pitch in a technical drill for those who did not play, or featured only briefly, at Allianz Parque.

Santos will train again on Friday afternoon.

The expectation is that Juan Pablo Vojvoda will have a near-complete squad to begin final tweaks for Sunday’s match against Guarani, scheduled for 20:30 at the Brinco de Ouro.
