Nico Williams has suffered a moderate left hamstring injury and will miss the remainder of Athletic Club’s season, but he will be available for the 2026 World Cup, which starts on 11 June in the United States, Mexico and Canada, the club said in a statement.
The winger left the pitch after 36 minutes against Valencia and was replaced by his brother.

There were immediate fears of a serious relapse, but the diagnosis confirmed a moderate problem rather than a severe one.
The usual lay-off for this type of injury is around three weeks.
Team-mate Oihan Sancet, who departed in the 65th minute, has the same moderate hamstring issue in his right leg and is likely to miss the rest of the season.
