Nicolas Tagliafico suffers ankle sprain and will miss one month | OneFootball

Nicolas Tagliafico has sustained an ankle sprain and will miss one month, head coach Paulo Fonseca confirmed at his press conference, according to Le Progres.

The Argentina full-back completed the first half in Bern despite pain in his right ankle following an early collision in the Europa League win over Young Boys on Thursday.

He was withdrawn at half-time and replaced by Orel Mangala, and later left the dressing room with his foot in a protective boot.

The setback comes as fellow left-back Vinicius Abner is managing adductor discomfort. He is due to train on Friday and it may be difficult to have him available for Metz.

Should Abner miss out, a reshuffle should see Ainsley Maitland-Niles fill in at left-back, as he did after the interval in Bern.
