Also of course, what Nottingham Forest fans have been saying about their own club and players…and manager.

Ange Postecoglou on Thursday night becoming the first Forest manager this century to not win any of his first six matches in charge,

The Forest owner sacking Nuno after the opening three games of the season had brought a win, a draw and a defeat.

Now the new manager with four defeats and two draws.

Fair to say the mood very different now amongst Nottingham Forest fans, compared to throughout last season when they were chasing a Champions League spot and ending up in the Europa League, plus a visit to Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals (losing to Man City).

Nottingham Forest fans comment via their LTLF message board:

‘Forest travel to St James Park for Ange Postecoglou’s leaving do.’

‘Quietly confident…that we will only lose by three.’

‘We’ll concede a lot more than 3 set pieces (which against Postecoglou’s Forest, is almost as good as being given a penalty).’

‘Very best outcome we can hope for here is that Storm Amy sees the match called off.’

‘First win for Ange Postecoglou, you heard it here first folks.’

‘I’ve never bet on Forest losing, but have made the exception this weekend.’

‘Lose.

3 or 4 (or 5) pick your Poison.

Normally the day after it’s out my system but not this time – Will likely play 2-2-6 who the hell knows.

Grim.’

‘Preparing myself for a thumping, it’s going to be a hard watch, putting some cash on the 7 foot striker to get hatrick.’

‘Nick Woltemade 9/2 for first goalscorer, it’s like printing money!’

‘I’m just glad they have got a big lad at the back who’d destroy us at corners.’

‘Hopefully we’ll have the new manager bounce and win 2-0.’

‘Mate, Warwick Davis would be a threat against us at a set piece at the moment.’

‘We will get battered.

We could barely handle Newcastle under Nuno when we were good, what makes anyone think we can now when we just conceded 3 goals against West Ham, Swansea & Midtjylland?’

‘What’s really depressing about this is that Maranakis was courting Ange. Bloody Ange Postecoglu. So we had nuno and he decided rock the apple cart by speaking to a very poor manager. If it was Iriaola he was courting than I sympathise but to court a manager worse than the one you’ve got is embarrassing.’

‘Please stop talking about Dyche, that would be a ridiculous appointment for a club with a scouting network that goes outside the East Midlands

If you want to prioritise survival that’s fine, it’s done in better ways that appointing a dinosaur like Dyche – mainly by hiring any competent manager.’

‘Why are we talking about Dyche? Are we already in the Championship?’

‘The word “dominance” has lost all meaning. I keep hearing/reading quotes about how we’ve dominated games. Having the ball 1% more than the opponents isn’t dominance.’

‘If there’s one thing i’m sure of under Marinakis it’s that the search to improve never stops, we won’t always get it right but at least when we get it wrong I have confidence that we won’t hesitate to make changes’

‘The atmosphere when that third visitors’ goal went in last night was absolutely vicious and I’ve never experienced even close to that at the City Ground before. When those chants went up, I found myself joining in despite never previously calling for any Forest manager to be sacked from memory.

Call it mob mentality if you will, but I know what we saw last night and previously and despite the challenging circumstances of Ange’s arrival and the relatively short opportunity for him to impart his methods and patterns on the club and the lads, it’s simply not good enough and needs to immediately improve.

I give Ange credit for coming on to the pitch at the final whistle and taking it on the chin afterwards. Despite the current situation, that is classy behaviour and a credit to him in my view.

I’d love to be proven completely wrong and among many ultimately eating humble pie if he manages us to success, but the clock is ticking on Ange now.’

‘So glad that I’ll be in the thick of preparing my son’s little birthday bash, so I’ll have an excuse not to watch this impending disasterclass. It may play in the background, but a Grow A Garden cake will probably be getting the best of my attention.’

‘I actually think we’ll play better and this will be relatively close (but we’ll still lose).’

‘Football has a funny habit of subverting expectations when literally everyone expects a defeat.

Big Ange’s turnaround begins here!

Until the 3rd minute when Woltemade nods one in at the near post and Ange sits looking gormless on the sideline wondering how this could have happened again.’
