Nottingham Forest have intensified their pursuit of Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi, with fresh dialogue opened and further talks expected in the coming days, according to Get Football News Italy. The report places Forest in pole position for the 26-year-old.

Newcastle United and Bournemouth are also monitoring the Italy international. Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray and Besiktas are likewise credited with interest.

A €35m (£30m) valuation has been suggested. Frattesi has struggled for regular minutes this season and is said to be keen on consistent game time elsewhere.

Football Italia reports Inter would consider a cash-plus-player arrangement involving Forest winger Dan Ndoye, although such a deal is viewed as unlikely.

Forest have recently been light in central midfield, but their options are improving ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Arsenal at the City Ground, 5.30pm kick-off. Ibrahim Sangare is in contention after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, and Ryan Yates is nearing a comeback from a hamstring problem.
