Official: Liverpool poach goalkeeping coach Rosalen from Napoli after 2 Scudetti | OneFootball

Liverpool have snapped up Napoli goalkeeping coach Alejandro Rosalen to work with Andoni Iraola, after winning two Serie A titles with the Partenopei and a long time at Fiorentina.

This move was announced by the official Liverpool website, with Xavi Valero replaced at Anfield.

Rosalen left Napoli, because new coach Max Allegri brought in his own backroom staff to take over from predecessor Antonio Conte.

Rosalen has long Serie A career

The 49-year-old is Spanish, but has spent much of his career in Italian football.

Rosalen first came to Italy for Fiorentina with a long spell from 2013 to 2021, where he worked under Vincenzo Montella, Paulo Sousa, Stefano Pioli, Giuseppe Iachini and Cesare Prandelli.

He then moved to Napoli from 2021 until last month, where he won two Serie A titles under Luciano Spalletti and Conte, also working with Walter Mazzarri, Rudi Garcia and Francesco Calzona.

The goalkeeping coach had started his career in the Valencia academy and also had one season in Hungary for Videoton.
