A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has late this week been left altogether disappointed.
This comes owing to the release of England’s latest national team squad.
The Three Lions on Friday unveiled a 35-man panel of players for a pair of warm-up fixtures ahead of the fast-approaching World Cup.
And despite his recent return to both fitness and form, Trent Alexander-Arnold was nowhere to be seen.
The former Liverpool man was overlooked even with Reece James unavailable owing to injury, with Thomas Tuchel having instead opted for a right-back trio of Djed Spence, Tino Livramento, and Jarell Quansah.
Alexander-Arnold’s Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham, on the other hand, has been selected, despite being fresh off an injury spell of his own.
England will kick their March international break into gear in a friendly meeting with Uruguay next Friday, before closing things out against Japan four days later.
