Official: Villarreal announce deal for Atlético Madrid star | OneFootball

Villarreal have on Friday announced a transfer agreement for a member of the defensive ranks at La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid.

The player in question? Santiago Mouriño.

Defender Mouriño has for his part endured something of a whirlwind last 24 hours.

This comes after the Uruguayan, first, sealed a return to Atlético Madrid, who made use of their buyback option 12 months on from Mouriño joining Deportivo Alavés.

The 23-year-old’s time back on the books in Spain’s capital, however, proved to be short lived to say the least…

As much comes with the board at the Metropolitano having brought Mouriño back only to sell him on for an immediate profit.

In turn, as per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the aforementioned Villarreal:

‘Villarreal CF and Atlético Madrid have reached a transfer agreement for the footballer Santiago Mouriño, who signs with the yellow club until 2030. Welcome to the Submarine, Mou!’
