Ole Book confirms Dortmund’s interest in signing two attackers amid El Mala and Karetsas links | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Ole Book received questions regarding the club’s summer transfer window ahead of their pre-season test against Fortuna Düsseldorf. The former Elversberg man stressed the need not to leak details to the media, but he confirmed their interest in adding attackers for the upcoming season.

"In principle, I think everyone is aware that we don't comment on players who are not players of Borussia Dortmund,” said Book when he was asked about Dortmund’s rejected offer for Köln’s youngster Said El Mala.

“I'm pleased that we're holding the ranks so tightly together at BVB, so that nothing leaks out anymore, because the abundance of false information in the last few days was already quite remarkable.

"Of course, we would have liked to have already signed an attacking player. But, at the end of the day, you also have to pay attention to the laws of the market and go with the times. The timing is absolutely crucial there. We know what we want for two attacking positions.”

Book also added it was key for Dortmund to keep the core of the team for the upcoming season. ”We are very happy that we were able to keep the spine of this team together. There was a lot of speculation in the media about all the key performers.” said the 40-year-old.

Borussia Dortmund will fancy their chances of keeping Nico Schlotterbeck and Serhou Guirassy for the new season after the reported release clauses in their contracts expired last week. In addition to El Mala, Dortmund are working on the deal to sign Konstantinos Karetsas from Genk.
