According to La Provence, OM should unveil a new club crest on 8 April at the "Treizième hOMme" gala dinner. It would be the 12th badge in the club’s history.
The design is more modern than previous versions, the outcome of a review launched last season by the duo Pablo Longoria and Medhi Benatia.

The new emblem is already an open secret, with the club having filed rights to the crest at the Institut national de la propriété industrielle.
It is more rounded than the current iteration, introduced in 2004, and closer to the version used between 1935 and 1972.
At one stage there was consideration of dropping the star and the motto "Droit au but", but both elements have ultimately been kept.
