Curaçao are making their World Cup debut later today and what a match to do it in.

Netherlands v Japan

Netherlands are the World Cup bridesmaids and that could very well be the case again here.

Japan come into this tournament as a true force and may well surprise a few people this summer. Expect a thriller in Dallas.

Côte d'Ivoire v Ecuador

This match-up has a real 'unstoppable force versus immovable object' vibe to it.

Côte d'Ivoire have some of the most exciting attacking talent in this World Cup, especially in the shape of RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande.

But Ecuador have one of the fiercest defences in the competition and could well nullify the Ivorian threat.

Our prediction: Côte d'Ivoire 0-0 Ecuador

Sweden v Tunisia

These two nations have played each other four times in their history with those games contributing a total of five goals.

Even with Viktor Gyökeres and Alexander Isak in the Swedish attack, don't expect too many goals in this one.

Which player should I look out for?

His club season has been massively curtailed by injury, but could that be a good thing for Sweden's Alexander Isak?

The Liverpool striker comes into the World Cup having played just 1,000 minutes of club football in 2025/26 and so should be fresher than almost anyone.
