According to Coluna Do Fla, Palmeiras will stage a protest at Corinthians on Sunday, withholding post-match interviews from their coaching staff.
The derby at Neo Química Arena kicks off at 18:30 Brasília time. The move is linked to recent events referenced in a club statement issued on Saturday 11.
Palmeiras are unhappy that Flamengo’s meeting with Fluminense was moved from Saturday 11 to Sunday 12 after a request from Flamengo. Flamengo cited logistical changes following delays returning from Cusco, Peru, after their continental opener on Wednesday 08.
They are also angered by an eight-match suspension for coach Abel Ferreira imposed by the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva, which rules him out of the derby. A request for a suspensive effect filed on Thursday 9 was rejected on Saturday 11.
In its statement, Palmeiras argued the punishment was disproportionate, saying the panel relied in part on lip-reading without forensic support and revisited past incidents already sanctioned.
The club added that denying the suspensive effect contrasted with numerous similar cases, amounting to unequal treatment. It warned arbitrary decisions undermine competition credibility and said no single professional should be a scapegoat, while expecting coherence at second instance.
Palmeiras also questioned the CBF for accepting Flamengo’s postponement request while similar pleas from other teams have been repeatedly rejected. It called for impartiality and transparency in decisions that can affect the league amid a demanding calendar.
