According to Globo.com, Palmeiras enter the Copa do Brasil last 16 targeting at least R$ four million more in prize money, having already banked R$ five million.

Progress past Fortaleza would meet the budgeted aim of reaching the quarter-finals.

The projection is cautious so finances do not hinge on results, though a deeper run could swell revenues, with the club focused on keeping the squad and avoiding major sales until year end.

In the best case, the cup could deliver a further R$ 91 million, broken down as R$ four million for the quarters, R$ nine million for the semis and R$ 78 million for the title.

By May, Palmeiras had earned R$ 16.5 million in prize money, including bonuses for the Paulista title. The annual budget targets R$ 62 million, assuming a G-4 Brasileiro finish, quarter-finals in the Copa do Brasil and Libertadores, and a Paulistão semi-final.
