According to a report from Foot Mercato, newly promoted Paris FC had attempted to sign Sofyan Amrabat (29) this summer, following a move which fell through for Lille midfielder and captain Benjamin André. Exchanges were reportedly held between the interested parties, led by PFC manager Stéphane Gilli who had known the player after working with Amrabat in Morocco. However, the former Fiorentina, Manchester United, and Fenerbaçe man decided to make the move to La Liga side Real Betis – after which Paris FC decided to turn towards a move for Stade Brestois talisman Pierre-Lees Melou. The Frenchman joined the club just before the end of august, signing on a deal which will run until 2027.Paris FC won their first game since their return to Ligue 1 with a 3-2 victory over Metz before the international break.
