Inter Miami began their 2026 Champions Tour in Peru, with academy pair Daniel Pinter and Alexander Shaw stepping up to first-team action. According to Inter Miami, the pre-season opener introduced several new faces.

Pinter said starting the year as a first-team player felt special, and he was pleased to get minutes. The forward signed a first-team deal last week after progressing through the club’s pathway.

The 18-year-old American-Hungarian joined in 2019 as part of the academy’s inaugural class, first featuring for the U-13s. He advanced through the ranks and featured for Inter Miami II in MLS NEXT Pro. He made 19 appearances with 10 goals and three assists, and debuted for the first team last September against Charlotte FC on a short-term loan.

Shaw said he was happy to make his debut, calling it a blessing and thanking those who have helped him. He wants to keep building with the group and earn more minutes.

The 17-year-old midfielder currently features for Inter Miami II. He made his professional debut last July and finished the season with 13 appearances and two assists.

The match also brought seven other debuts. Trialists selected in the MLS SuperDraft 2026, defender Abdel Talabi and forward Mamadi Jiana from Bryant University, plus midfielder Kenan Hot from Duke University, featured, while recent signings David Ayala, Facundo Mura, Dayne St. Clair and Sergio Reguilón also appeared.

Inter Miami now head to Medellin to face Atlético Nacional on Saturday 31 January at 5pm ET at Estadio Atanasio Girardot.
