Premier League transfers so far as Sunderland and Coventry add defenders | OneFootball

Premier League business is picking up as the new season approaches, with Sunderland and Coventry City adding defenders and heavy movement across leading clubs.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Arsenal have taken Illan Meslier on a free after his Leeds exit and made Piero Hincapie’s £25m switch permanent, while Leandro Trossard has moved to Besiktas for £15.3m.

Aston Villa have signed Johan Manzambi from Freiburg for £50m and agreed a pre-contract for Modou Keba Cisse. Youri Tielemans has joined Manchester United for £35m, and Morgan Rogers is heading to Chelsea in a £117m deal.

Bournemouth have paid £21m for Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche. Marcos Senesi has joined Tottenham as his contract ends, and Andoni Iraola has left to become Liverpool head coach.

Brentford have added Jannik Schuster from Red Bull Salzburg for £17.2m and Jaidon Anthony from Burnley for £17m, with Callum Wilson arriving on a free. Frank Onyeka has joined Coventry City and Reiss Nelson has returned to Arsenal after a loan.

Brighton have recruited Luka Vuskovic from Tottenham for £50m and Pascal Struijk from Leeds for £20m, plus Zadok Yohanna, Costinha, Michael Svoboda and Rodrigo Rego. Jan Paul van Hecke has gone to Tottenham for £52m and James Milner is retiring.

Chelsea have brought in Marco Palestra from Atalanta for £43m and Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon for £40m, while confirming Xabi Alonso as head coach. Departures include Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid for £51.8m and Tyrique George to Everton for £18m.
