QPR and Oxford United clash this Wednesday at the Loftus Road on Match Day eight of the EFL Championship. The match will be broadcast live at 20:00 on Sky Sports Football.
QPR have 11 points to their name this season and occupy 9th position in the table. In their last outing, Julien Stéphan's team drew 1-1 against Sheffield Wed. (EFL Championship 2025/26).
Oxford United have won 5 points to date and are placed in 22nd position. In their last encounter, Gary Rowett's team were beaten 0-1 by Sheffield United (EFL Championship 2025/26).
The last meeting between the two teams ended with QPR winning 3-1.
Ben Platt (W12 PODCAST): After a stuttering start to the season, we have found a little bit of rhythm going into Wednesdays clash with Oxford at Loftus Road. Since the 7-1 defeat to Coventry, weve gone four league games unbeaten (W W W D) and on reflection, as weird as it sounds, that defeat was potentially something the manager needed. However, in typical QPR style, in a game on paper you need to be winning, we put in a pretty lacklustre poor performance. Which in the end we were happy to get away with a point. We will need to improve at home on Wednesday night to an unpredictable Oxford. Nicolas Madsens renewed form is a real positive and he grabbed his first goal of the season on Saturday.
Again, not much by way of team news. Expect the same squad to be involved, perhaps a recall for Rayan Kolli with us being at home. Jake Clarke-Salter is back available but Id be surprised if he is rushed back in with his horrendous injury record. Chair and Poku still out.
