PSG third in FIFA World Cup payments as French top flight ranks third

PSG rank third among clubs in FIFA’s World Cup compensation, with the French top flight also third by league share of the €311m pot. FIFA compensates clubs for players released to the tournament.
According to Deutsche Kreditbank, PSG will receive €3.58m from FIFA’s World Cup Benefits programme for the 11 June to 19 July tournament. Manchester City top the list on €4.64m, ahead of Bayern Munich on €4.04m.
Ligue 1 clubs collectively will receive €19.24m, placing the division third overall. That is ahead of La Liga on €17.80m and Serie A on €17.08m, close to the Bundesliga on €22.52m and behind the Premier League on €41.50m.
Within France, Lille are due €1.93m and Marseille €1.77m.
Marseille also lead the solidarity payments to former clubs of internationals, with a little over €600,000. They are followed by Wolverhampton on €538,908, then Rennes on €454,500 and Lens on €436,700.
