Vasco will be without Andrés Gómez and Puma Rodríguez for Wednesday's trip to Coritiba. The pair will instead switch straight into preparations for Saturday's derby with Botafogo at São Januário.
According to Globo.com, both missed club training during the international break while on national team duty.
Puma Rodríguez stayed on the bench as Uruguay drew 0-0 with Algeria on Tuesday in Turin. He also did not feature in the earlier 1-1 draw with England in London on the 27th.
Despite not playing, the turnaround would have seen him reach Curitiba only late on Wednesday afternoon. Given the travel and logistics, Vasco opted to rest him, and he is expected at CT Moacyr Barbosa on Thursday.
Andrés Gómez is suspended after a third yellow card, so was not expected to be included against Coritiba. He came on in the second half of both Colombia friendlies, defeats to Croatia and France.
His last outing was on Sunday and he has already returned to Rio. He is due on Wednesday to start work for the weekend derby at São Januário.
Without them, Vasco face Coritiba at 20:30 Brasília time at Couto Pereira in Curitiba in the ninth round of the Brasileiro. Premiere and sportv will show it live, with ge providing live minute-by-minute coverage.
