Rafael Leao’s AC Milan future remains unresolved as Fenerbahce step up talks and line up a lucrative salary to land the Portugal forward. With interest from England or Spain yet to emerge, the Turkish giants sense an opening.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Milan want €50m-€60m from any sale and that Fenerbahce are expected to meet Leao’s representatives in Milan in the coming hours.
Milan regard a potential exit as key to funding further signings after bringing in Mario Gila and Goncalo Ramos. Leao is weighing up his options, while only Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have made concrete moves.
Fenerbahce are prepared to offer about €10 million per season plus bonuses to pull clear of their rivals. Gazzetta suggests the winger spent part of his holiday in Türkiye, stoking talk over his future. The same outlet adds that Milan are still awaiting a first official bid and that the 27-year-old would not remain in Italy unless he stays at Milan, though he would consider Türkiye under the right conditions.
He is expected to take more time, and is due to rejoin for the pre-season tour of Australia after a commercial event in Brazil. Before the World Cup he signalled he wanted a new challenge and is not thought to have changed his mind. Despite Türkiye’s growing interest, he still hopes a leading club from England or Spain enters the race.
His World Cup displays have not sparked a broader bidding war, he scored against Uzbekistan and started only against Croatia, where his cross set up Ramos’ decisive goal. Milan plan to continue preparations in Indonesia unless Fenerbahce, Galatasaray or another suitor reach an agreement sooner.
